1984-1990 Jeep XJ Cherokee Classic Update Kit

Our 1984-90 XJ Cherokee Classic Update kit has been designed to eliminate the clutter of the original Jeep wiring, and is the ideal solution for a modified off-road or restomod build with aftermarket fuel injection or late model engine swap.

Each kit is designed to include all the basics needed to rewire a vehicle from headlight to tail light, and will accommodate popular add-on items while reducing the overall complexity of your project.

Updated Dash and Aftermarket Compatibility:

• Kit dash harness is fully built, with installers responsible for making backup and neutral safety connections due to transmission options. Our new fuse box and bulkhead assembly accommodates nearly all accessories, including stock and aftermarket gauge packages.
  
• Steering Column Connection: The assembly plugs directly into 1984-1990 XJ models and supports most aftermarket columns with an included adapter and terminal set.
  
• Factory and Aftermarket Support: Connections are provided for factory heat/AC systems as well as aftermarket alternatives. All necessary terminals and connectors are included to support the use of factory instrument clusters, ensuring a hassle-free installation process.
  
• Lighting and Accessory Support: Factory-style under-dash courtesy lamp assemblies, plug-and-play heater switch, wiper/washer switch, blower resistor wiring, and motor connections are all standard.
  
• All Factory 4WD Options: Kit supports all factory 4WD options, with step-by-step connection instructions and supporting wires.

Enhanced Lighting and Engine Compartment Wiring:

• New Sockets Provided: Includes new sockets for headlights, turn signals, side markers, stop/tail, and backup lamps.
  
• Comprehensive Engine Compartment Wiring: Features feeds for coil, tach, water temperature, oil pressure, electric choke, starter solenoid, electric fuel pump lead, and alternator exciter feed. Also includes connections for Factory V6 HEI and GM Large Cap HEI. Kits are designed to support standalone EFI or engine swaps. Factory engine management wiring is not included.
  
• High-Powered Alternator Connection: A high-powered 6 gauge 1-wire alternator connection with Mega-Fuse protection is also supplied.

Additional Components and Features:

• Front Light Harness Circuits: Includes headlight, parking/directional light, side marker light pigtails, and brake warning differential, with a switched trigger wire to support an electric fan.
  
• Comprehensive Kit Components: Wire harness routing clips, pass-thru grommets, and all necessary terminals/connectors are included to complete connections to components and switches inside the vehicle.
  
• Flexible Sub-Harnesses: Sub-harnesses attach to the dash wiring and are un-terminated on the opposite end for custom routing and installation. Extra-long lengths accommodate various configurations. Necessary lamp sockets, connections and jumpers are included.
